What is a Korean lash lift?

Silicone lash shields and a fine applicator arranged on a cream cloth

The Korean lash lift is the studio's signature treatment, and the one we get asked about most.

What it does

It lifts your own lashes upward from the root and sets them in a soft, natural curl, then tints them so they look longer and darker. Nothing is added to your lashes. The result lasts until those lashes shed naturally, typically four to six weeks.

How it works

  • Mapping. We look at your lash line and eye shape and choose the shield size and curl that will open up your eye.
  • Lifting. The Korean method is glueless. Lashes are set on the shield without a layer of glue in the way, so the thioglycolate-free lifting solution can reach each lash from the base upward.
  • Setting. A second step resets that bond in its new, lifted shape.
  • Tint and finish. A tint darkens the lashes, so the new length and curl show.

Why lift from the base

Older lash perms tended to curl the tips, which could look crimped. Lifting from the root lifts the whole lash upward, which is what makes the eye look more open and the result look like your own lashes on a very good day.

Who it suits

Most people with natural lashes of reasonable length. It makes the biggest visible difference for lashes that grow straight out or point down, and for anyone tired of lash curlers and mascara. It is also a practical choice if you swim, train or wear glasses. If your lashes are very short or sparse, we will tell you at the consultation how much a lift can do. Compare the options in lash lift vs. lash extensions.

Is it gentle?

That depends on the products and the hands applying them. Our Korean lift uses a thioglycolate-free solution, which is kinder to the lash than older perming formulas, and the glueless method means nothing has to be dissolved off afterwards. More on this in are lash lifts safe.

Adding keratin

If you want the lift and a conditioning treatment in one, the keratin lash infusion is a lift made with the ECO Infusion system, which infuses lashes with keratin while it lifts them.

Questions we’re often asked

How long does a Korean lash lift last?

Typically four to six weeks, until the lifted lashes shed as part of your natural growth cycle.

Is a Korean lash lift the same as a lash perm?

It is a modern development of the same idea, but it lifts lashes from the base upward rather than curling the tips, for a more natural, open result.

Do I need mascara after a lash lift?

Most clients find they do not. The lift and tint together do most of what mascara was doing.
