A Calgary winter means cold, dry air outside, the heating on inside, and a toque on most days. The treatment is the same in January as in July, but a few small habits keep a lift and lamination looking fresh until your next appointment.
The first 24 hours come first
The setting rules do not change with the season.
- Keep it dry. Snow melting on your face counts, so pat it dry.
- Skip the steam. No sauna, hot tub or very hot shower aimed at your face.
- No makeup on the treated area. No mascara on lifted lashes, no brow products on laminated brows.
- Wear your toque higher. A toque pulled low over freshly laminated brows can press them out of shape while they set. Wear it higher on your forehead for the first day.
Dry air and laminated brows
Laminated brows can feel a little dry for the first few days, and dry indoor heat does not help. After the first 24 hours, a small amount of nourishing brow serum or conditioner keeps them soft. A keratin infusion builds that conditioning into the treatment itself.
Lashes in the cold
- Brush them each morning. Wind and a scarf pulled up over your face can push lashes out of place, and a clean spoolie resets them.
- Pat, do not rub. When the cold makes your eyes water, pat the corners dry.
- Keep rich creams off the lash line. Winter is when heavier, oily creams come out, and oil can soften the curl faster. Water-based products are kinder around the eyes.
- Take makeup off gently. Press and lift rather than scrubbing.
When to rebook
Around every six weeks, once most of the lifted lashes have grown out. Lifting again over lashes that still hold their curl risks over-processing them. If you want everything fresh for the holidays, read when to book before Christmas parties.

Questions we’re often asked
Can I wear a toque after brow lamination?
Yes. For the first 24 hours, wear it higher on your forehead so it does not press on your brows while they set.
Why do my laminated brows feel dry in winter?
Lamination can leave brows a little dry for the first few days, and dry indoor heat does not help. A little nourishing brow serum after the first 24 hours keeps them soft.
Can I use my usual winter face cream after a lash lift?
Yes, but keep rich, oily creams off the lash line. Oil can soften the curl faster.
