A lift and lamination before a big day means one less thing in the makeup chair. Timing is what makes them look settled rather than just-done.
The ideal window
A few days to a week before the event. The first 24 hours are for setting, so booking the day before cuts it too fine: you would be keeping everything dry on the busiest day of prep. A week out still leaves the result at its freshest, since a lift lasts four to six weeks.
If it is your first time
Book a trial well ahead, ideally six to eight weeks before the event. You will know exactly how the lift or lamination suits you, and you can book your pre-event appointment knowing what to expect. Read what to expect at your first appointment.
Weddings
- Book lashes and brows before your makeup trial if you can, so your artist works with the finished shape.
- Allow for the 24 hours of no makeup, no steam and no water on the area.
- If you are having other treatments, such as facials, spacing them over separate days is kinder to the skin.
Holidays
A lift is ideal before travel: no mascara running in the heat, no lash curler in the suitcase, and it copes with swimming once the first 24 hours have passed.
Photos and events
Lifted, tinted lashes and groomed brows photograph well because they frame the eye without looking heavy. Many clients skip mascara on camera or wear a light coat.
Book early for busy dates
Saturday dates can fill early in wedding season. The Home Studio takes Friday and Saturday appointments, the Salon Studio is open on Sundays, and evening times are available by request. Get in touch if the date you need is not showing.
